To promote and restore patients' health by providing exceptional, compassionate, comprehensive patient-focused care in the perinatal healthcare setting. To increase value to the customers we serve by constantly working to improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes while striving for cost efficiency.
Successfully manages the daily activities of clinical and non-clinical unit staff to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction. Provides support and leadership to charge nurses to promote a consistent approach to care delivery and staff performance on a 24/7 basis.
Effectively participates and chairs committees, to effectively accomplish the goals and objectives of the committee and the Medical Center. Reports back appropriate data from committees to Director. Disseminates organizational information at the unit level, to include huddle notes, participation in staff huddles, staff newsletters and real-time feedback.
Maintains skills and knowledge necessary to function as staff nurse when needed and serve as a clinical resource to all staff, interdisciplinary team members, and patients/families.
Develops, coordinates, and evaluates quality and performance improvement efforts. Collaborates with other departments, including Quality, IT, PPC, to implement evidence-based improvement initiatives using proven LEAN strategies.
Participates in the development of policies and procedures that are based on current recommendations and evidence. Ensures nursing practice follows policy and meets current standards through thorough knowledge of TJC, ANA and ASPAN requirements and maintains compliance with standards.
Assists with the development and monitoring of the budget. Practices efficient and cost effective coordination of care and unit practices.
Evaluates staff performance in alignment with Human Resource guidelines. Encourages and facilitates professional growth for all staff. Works to continually improve upon staff engagement and satisfaction.
Utilizes Just Culture in an effort to better manage risk, promote safety, increase accountability, and prevent adverse outcomes. Models the principles of a Just Culture.
Demonstrates and promotes professional and collaborative interaction with patients/families, providers, staff, other departments, and leadership in an effort to meet patient care needs and facilitate teamwork.
Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
Three years of nursing experience and one year of supervisory experience required.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required
Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
